1, ABOUT CHOCA

Chill Out Community Arts = CHOCA is a community arts group which provides arts for all levels at donations only prices.

CHOCA had a community arts House in Lisbon, Jan, - Dec. 2012

As overall coordinator of CHOCA I plan to open a 2nd Community Arts house based on 'CHOCA House 1', tho my ideas are flexbile and suggestions welcome.

2, THE HOUSE ITSELF = 5 rooms ( = 3 Bedrooms / Guest room / Big all-purpose room for drawing, drama, communal meals, dance, yoga / Art studio) + Kitchen big enough for cooking lessons + Veranda or Garden for permaculture.

3, TYPES OF ACTIVITIES: Creative Writing / Dancing: a, Salsa, b, Contemporary / Drama incl. Improvisation / Drawing / Painting / Music - Singing , Guitar, jamming sessions etc + extra: Cooking, Permaculture, Reflexology, Yoga etc    (... if interested in running an activity pls get in touch.)

4, PRICE of activities for public incl. meals = donations only ( money, goods or services )

5, RESIDENTS: 3 people would live in the house - either long term or monthly). All expenses - rent food bills are simply divided by the residents.

6, LOCATION: Should be somewhere accesible to people in the city and central so it is easy to run community arts activities in the neighbourhood.

Lisbon 2016??

1, DATE: i am currently in Hanoi and plan to go to Lisbon in mid April to set up 'CHOCA House 2'. However if a possibility / offer of a house came up 2moro i would leave immediately and go set the house up there.

2, LOCATION:

Lisbon?? However if someone were to offer a house somewhere else i would certaninly consider it!

...I am aiming for Lisbon simply because i know various people and groups there + its system so i think it would be easier to set up - also lisbon / portugal is a great place!

Another apartment in the same block as 'CHOCA House 1' is  definitly worth considering.

anyone else got any suggestion please?

3, CONTRACT: for most agents ( as was the case for 'CHOCA House 1' ) for me to sign the house contract i need to have a full time job with a job contract... i do not have a full time job so will have to get one!!! can any1 offer me a full time job??? or got any suggestions pls???

4, BACKER / FIADORA / FUNDRAISING:
I will also need a backer / fiadora - some one who is prepared to counter sign the signature. I found it very hard to get a a backer and this time my backer has left portugal! therefore i need to find one... any volunteers to be a backer / fiadora please??

Many places will accept if i pay 6 months rent in advance but there is no way i have that money - would it be worth fundrasing 4500E E = euros) to avoid needing a backer???...

5, PRICE per RESIDENT per MONTH if in Lisbon = 400E

overall = 750E a month + 450E (150E each) shared food and bills
1200E divided by the 3 participants = 400E each a month.

1st month only: When a new resident entres they will also have to pay their last month's share of the rent (250E) which they would get back from their replacement resident. Therefore 1st month = 550E

I myself can offer drawing, painting, creative writing and story-telling activities.

5 Funding Activities to raise 1000€ to open CHOCA house in Feb.

CHOCA is aiming to raise 1000€ in January to open a house in February by a fund-raising workshop, art selling and donations.
 
1st month's rent = 700€ + 300€ for various art equipment and various home comforts ( bits of furniture, saucepans etc)

After the initial 1000€ each of the 3 residents will be responsible for their part of the rent (rent, bills and food = - / + 300€ each) 


1: Fund-raising Activities: 
Every week in January there will be a workshop 'Drawing Faces to Music' ...as always prices = donations only.
